Here is a step-by-step view of a mantel installation:
| Here is the mantel in our paint booth shortly after the
finish has been applied. |
 |
| Once the mantel is transported to the client's home, the
mantel is centered around the fireplace opening. Measurements are
taken of the studs behind the fireplace to locate support points for
mounting the mantle. Here André is drilling holes in the mantle that
correspond to the studs. Then fasteners will be drilled through the
mantle to the studs behind the wall, providing stability for the
mantle. |

|
| Here André is actually fastening the mantle to the wall
through the holes he previously drilled. |

|
| Here is a view of the finished installation. Note that
"buttons" are inserted in the drilled holes to cover the 6
fasteners, 3 on each side on the inside of the fluted columns.
(Unfortunately the flash wasn't on when this picture was taken so the
color isn't true to life. The mantel is white. |

front and the crown molding under the mantel shelf. |
 |
| Here are before and after shots of the fireplace. What a
difference!!!
